Strøget is the main shopping street of Copenhagen. It goes from the City Hall Square in one end to Kongens Nytorv in the other end, and generally the shops go from high street chain stores to exclusive designer boutiq1ues in that very same order. The street which has been closed for traffic is always stuffed to the limit with people – especially tourists and the very young haunting down a good bargain in high street stores such as Hennes & Mauritz. Just before Amagertorv with its cafes you find Nørgaard på Strøget, a very well- known Danish fashion boutique, having survived countless generations' rampaging. Of course you cannot visit Copenhagen without taking a stroll at Strøget, but remember to move down the side streets that often opens for an opportunity to visit much more interesting small boutiques.
